How To Perform

  1. 1 Stand with feet slightly wider than shoulder-width. Kettlebell on the floor slightly in front.
  2. 2 Hinge and swing the bell back between the legs.
  3. 3 Drive explosively through the hips to swing the bell forward to shoulder height.
  4. 4 Allow the bell to fall back and repeat.

Form Cues

  • ✓ This is a hip hinge, not a squat — the power comes from hip extension.
  • ✓ Glutes contract hard at the top.
  • ✓ Arms are just a lever — the legs and hips generate the power.

Common Mistakes

  • ✗ Squatting rather than hinging.
  • ✗ Using the arms to lift the bell.
  • ✗ Not locking out the hips at the top.
💡 Professor Splits Says:

Progressive overload is the engine of muscle growth. Track your weights and aim to add small increments weekly. For Kettlebell Swing, this means gradually increasing load, volume (sets × reps), or decreasing rest periods over time.
