Preacher Curl Machine

The machine preacher curl braces the upper arm on a pad to eliminate body swing, creating pure bicep isolation. The machine provides a consistent resistance curve and is easier to load progressively than the EZ-bar version.

How To Perform

  1. 1 Sit with upper arms on the angled pad. Adjust seat height so armpits rest at top of pad.
  2. 2 Grip handles in the starting position.
  3. 3 Curl up to full contraction, squeezing the biceps hard.
  4. 4 Lower slowly to full extension — do not lock out aggressively.

Form Cues

  • ✓ Seat height is critical — armpits should rest at the top of the pad.
  • ✓ Control the full negative — the eccentric builds bicep mass.

Common Mistakes

  • ✗ Seat too low causing the armpits to leave the pad.
  • ✗ Rushing the return.
💡 Professor Splits Says:

Progressive overload is the engine of muscle growth. Track your weights and aim to add small increments weekly. For Preacher Curl Machine, this means gradually increasing load, volume (sets × reps), or decreasing rest periods over time.
