How To Perform

  1. 1 Hold dumbbells with a supinated grip. Curl upward.
  2. 2 At the top, rotate to a pronated grip (palms down).
  3. 3 Lower the dumbbells under control with the pronated grip.
  4. 4 Rotate back to supinated at the bottom for the next rep.

Form Cues

  • ✓ Rotate smoothly at the top — not jerky.
  • ✓ Control the eccentric with a pronated grip.

Common Mistakes

  • ✗ Forgetting to rotate at the top.
  • ✗ Using too heavy a weight for the rotational component.
💡 Professor Splits Says:

Progressive overload is the engine of muscle growth. Track your weights and aim to add small increments weekly. For Zottman Curl, this means gradually increasing load, volume (sets × reps), or decreasing rest periods over time.
